Pyrolysis as a value added method for plastic waste management: A review on converting LDPE and HDPE waste into fuel

چکیده
The global demand for plastic is increasing year by due to its indispensable uses and excellent properties. Plastic wastes persist many years their slow deterioration cause severe environmental problems. Therefore, there a growing focus worldwide on waste disposal methods overcome adverse impacts. As plastics are petroleum-based materials, the pyrolysis of fuel oil, gases, char, has more concern than other management recycling landfilling. A yield 70-80 wt.% liquid from been reported elsewhere, emerging importance aptness this method in management. common reactor types process batch reactor, semi-batch spouted bed fluidized reactor. catalysts employed were zeolites, including ZSM-5, HUSY, Zeolite X, Y. pore structure catalyst’s acidity most influencing parameters quality oil produced process. This paper reviews existing literature processes developed HDPE LDPE globally governing factors. Furthermore, emissions engine combustion performance, emission characteristics discussed. Although separation prior challenging process, review highlights conversion into energy as smart way meet rising demands.

New energy value chain through pyrolysis of hospital plastic waste
In this paper, the evolution in thermochemical behaviours of hospital plastic wastes and changes in chemical composition and characteristics of pyrolysis liquid products have been investigated by using different fixed bed reactor scales. The main objective is to identify the critical technical parameters enabling thermochemical process adaptation in function of raw materials chemical structure,...
متن کاملConverting non-metallic printed circuit boards waste into a value added product
The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using nonmetallic printed circuit board (PCB) waste as filler in recycled HDPE (rHDPE) in production of rHDPE/PCB composites. Maleic anhydride modified linear low-density polyethylene (MAPE) was used as compatibilizer. In particular, the effects of nonmetallic PCB and MAPE on mechanical properties of the composites were assessed throug...
متن کاملPyrolysis of waste tyres: a review.
Approximately 1.5 billion tyres are produced each year which will eventually enter the waste stream representing a major potential waste and environmental problem. However, there is growing interest in pyrolysis as a technology to treat tyres to produce valuable oil, char and gas products. The most common reactors used are fixed-bed (batch), screw kiln, rotary kiln, vacuum and fluidised-bed. Th...
متن کاملWaste oils as alternative fuel for diesel engine: A review
Increase in energy demand, stringent emission norms and depletion of oil resources have led the researchers to find alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. On the other hand, waste oils pose a very serious environment challenge because of their disposal problems all over the world. In this context, waste oils are currently receiving renewed interest. The properties of the oil derived...
متن کاملFractional Distillation Process Utilized to Produce Light Fractional Fuel from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Waste Plastic
Plastics are not easily biodegradable; and because of these characteristics they can remain under landfill and water for a very long period of time. All over the world only 6% of waste plastics are recycled and the rest of all waste plastics are dumped into landfills. An experiment was conducted in a laboratory scale batch process under Labconco’s fume hood utilizing low density polyethylene (L...
